Happy Sunday!

Today’s post is all about channeling your inner artist and put all your free time to use . If you recall I previously did a post “5 AWESOME ways to fill empty notebooks” and today’s post is just elaborate extract of the same . Art journals are a very modern and rustic way to display not only your art but stuff like your poetry or quotes too . Me and “@_theartisticside” collaborated to make this beautiful page . Keep reading to know how you can make one of your own

You’ll need :

          1.      A notebook . ( You don’t necessarily need an art journal )
          2.     Glue
          3.     Scissors
          4.     Paint , sketch pen (or any art supply , we used water color )
          5.     Magazines , newspaper .

Let’s go !

          1.   Plan out what color palette you want to play with. It always gives a better visual if you have a three color scheme. As I love pastels I went with pink, grey and blue.

         2.    Allot one sheet to the quote/poem and the other for an abstract collage .

      3.      Paint to make the back ground for your text . A beautiful background is always a great start .

Add caption

          4.      Flip through magazines, newspapers and any picture filled sheet to find images or       text matching your color scheme.

5 .     Cut them out and place them on the page, playing with whatever feels right .

         6.     Paste the collage bits in place .

7 .      Write down your poem / quote directly or on a separate paper and secure.

8.      VOILA ,  you have a master piece ! This hardly takes half an hour to make and is such a fun activity .

To see other such art journal entries follow my sister  “@_theartisticside” .

  Until next time

Helloooooo

Wassup Kyfam ! Today’s post is quite a read so keeping the intro super short

Let’s go

Slip Ons :

This shoe is one that you can slip on just like flip-flops, but you'll always look more polished and sophisticated. Slip ons go perfectly with your summer dresses or jeans! I lean towards the pointed ones as they add a tad bit of edge to any outfit .

I bought this black polish finish  slip ons from Payless .

Platform Sandals :

I love platforms as they provide maximum comfort through distribution of weight, greater stability, agility, and the freedom to walk in your normal gait. They usually have an adjustable ankle strap to provide ease in walking .

If you read my blog , you’d know I am obsessed with neutrals and blush pink . This platform sandal caught my eye as soon as I walked in the store (Westside ) .

Casual Sneakers :

For the days when you wake up feeling pumped , slide on a sneaker this will keep you agile all day , and what better than the super trendy all white sneaker that goes with any outfit . Be it a dress or just a street style outfit, these superstars have got your back.

Statement Piece :
Wear your statement flats /heels/loafers out anytime you're feeling a little more daring. Statement pieces can be anything and everything, and should be tailored to your style: leather, suede, bright, bold, or studded -- anything goes! But one thing they must be is UNIQUE.
A good pair of statement wear will make even your simplest ensembles look brand new. So go ahead, throw your statement heels on, and rock them with confidence!

Trainers :

Every girl should own a really good quality pair of trainers. If you like to head out each evening for a jog or a brisk walk, never be tempted to throw on the flats. This is a big no-no. Trainers will best protect your feet. I prefer skechers as their sole comes lined with a memory foam ( goga mat ) that gives the feeling of walking on clouds . Have zero fuss about the lace are easily sildeable and super comfortable.

PS : Its evident that I have wore these an often lot ! Sorry for the unpleasant sole :P

Flip Flops :
Flip Flops are the most comfortable footwear ever invented and no one can deny this fact. Your feet feel free & you can walk around in flip flops for all day long.
They are very apt for summer season. Pair them with Summer dresses or  wear them with top & denims for a casual day out.
They are a must have for daily wear, inside your house or for a day out on the beach.

So there you go, Hope this blog helps you to channel your inner fashionista.
 Until next time

Hello Kyfam !

Today’s post has to be my most favorite DIY of all time because lapel pins are all over the place and buying a single piece is so pricey . I of course wanted some pins for myself and chose the inexpensive way and made some .

Let's start

You’ll need :

Things you'll need

1 . Print out or draw any fun symbols or icons you love .Mine happen to revolve around food :P

2. Get coloring . If you got a color print out you save this step but, I find it more relate able when you color it yourself .

3. Trace the outline of your picture onto the foam sheets and cut the sheet out .

4.Glue your picture onto the foam sheet . After the glue dries , give a glue coat on top as well to give a sheer finish (provided your glue dries clear ).

5. Flip your foam sheet around and add a generous dollop of hot glue to secure the safety pin . If you don’t happen to have a hot glue gun , use a really strong glue .

There you go ! You have these personalized super cute pins , and now you can make as many you want and flaunt this accessory on your backpacks , pencil cases , shoes and jackets .

   Until next time

Happy Sunday KYFAM !!!

Camouflage is never ‘officially’ out of fashion like prints and stripes it’s pretty neutral and stays over the seasons . However it was out of sight for quite a while and is now popping up and is hotter than ever reminding the fashion desk that this urban key piece still has style mileage .

If camo prints automatically make you relate to military men ‘Max fashion stores ‘ will change your mind . They have so much variety in this print , resulting in outfit inspiration that will last you all season .

The trick to pulling off this tomboyish trend is to wear it in moderation . Pick neutrals and play around with the print . As soon as I picked up this fun hoodie/shrug my first instinct was to pair it with a solid black or white camisole  but , on spoting this uber cool graphic tee dress I decided to pair this one instead .

“Queen Of Naps” printed on the dress added the right amount of quirk to the assemble.  Keeping the rest of the outfit on the neutral side I paired it with black leggings , sand beige hijab  and slip ons .

Camo print jacket : Max Fashion Store (Rs. 800) .

Tee-shirt dress : Max Fashion Store ( Rs. 450)  .

Hijab : The Pashmina Store Dubai .

Leggings : Go colors .

Slip Ons :  Woodland .
