If you're anything like me, you have those days when your outfit is perfect... until you have to pick out a hijab. Hopefully these tips will help, next time you find yourself in a sticky hijab-situation. Some hijab styling tips coming your way.

      1.      Always choose the background color of your outfit. If you are wearing a black skirt with green top then go for a green scarf. Don’t wear a black hijab and create a block of colors on your body. If you wearing a pink dress with black design, go for a pink scarf.

      2.     Experiment! Master a style that you carry everyday but also try different styles for occasions. Wear a no layer hijab with volume or wear a loose flowing hijab for weddings. Try different face shapes, create a point or wear it round. Try different materials but remember to totally master you ‘to-go’ style.

      3.     Know your skin tone and what color of hijab goes most with it. Hijab is not like wearing just any piece of cloth, it’s attached to your face – you have to be careful of what color you wear because that will brighten or make your face dull.

      4.     Modify. Even if you have that one style that you’re very comfortable with and you don’t want to change it, try modifying. When you wear a shirt – pull your hijab towards your neck.
If you are wearing an embroidered top, make one side of scarf sit on your shoulder. If you are wearing a hoodie- tuck your hijab inside it ( I do this all the time ). Same style, different ways.

      5.     Be comfortable. If you want to start wearing hijab, START! Start where you feel confident, it could be anywhere or with anyone but Start. The best thing about hijab dance is it clauses your ears (symbolically, please do or not take this literally.  We hear everything even with hijab on), because you need to stop listening to people who discourage you.

       6.     It does not stop you from anything.  What you wear, should not stop you from anything.  Even if creates a barrier, break it but carry what you wear because it is a part of who you are!

Until next time

Last week I uploaded my GOA blog and it was quite a read( Click here to check it out). Today’s post is about the outfits I wore on my mini vacation. Leggo!

D A Y 1 : Hello Goa

This day was dedicated to  chilling at the beach and strolling around the hostel’s neighbourhood . For a relaxed day I chose to wear a very light and neutral chambray top with bell sleeves that give the attire a very comfy chic look. Paired the look with a cap and sunnies for the beach.

Top : Amazon ( Kuwaiti Local Store)

Light wash denim : Reliance Trends

Cap: Max

Sunnies : Rayban

Day 2: Explore

We had a lot planned for this day. That meant a lot of walking, climbing and staying out. Hence I chose to wear a maxi dress as it is airy and light. I loved the colors and pattern on this one. As it was sleeveless I topped it with a denim shirt and knotted it in the front to give a more laid back casual feel to it.

Maxi Dress: Max

Denim Shirt: Lifestylestores

Flip Flops: Bata

Day 3 : Long drives and shopping

This day was all about  long drives and shopping at flea markets so, wore is super comfy shirt dress . Vertical stripes are something I am currently crushing on. By evening I rolled the sleeves up to give it more laid back look.

Top: Local store

Leggings : Melange

Day 4 : Beach shoot

Legit dressed up just to go to the beach and take pictures :P (blogger issues). Wore a graphic tee teamed with  a flowly cardigan to compliment the beachy vibe.

Tee: H&M

Cardigan : Lifestylestores

Jeans : Reliance trends

Until next time

Heyyyyyy Ya’ll

If you follow me on Instagram ( @kyriasabah )you already know I went on an all girls trip to GOA. Yes achievement unlocked :P Okay not making the intro any longer. Let’s go.

DAY 0: P A C K + G O

I had mind mapped all the stuff I wanted to carry as I wasn’t sure if I was going until a few hours before I boarded the bus. As soon as I got the green signal I dumped stuff into my duffel bag, it filled up sooner than it should have been because of the haste in my packing. I rechecked if I had everything I needed and booked a cab to @geetsingh's hostel.

The pickup point was closer to her place so stayed there for a while. Boarded the bus at 7:45 pm from Anand Rao circle. It was a full sleeper Volvo. Super comfy. As there were four of us travelling we took adjacent beds and spend three fourth of the night playing typical travel games and getting to know each other. Made a quick stop for dinner and then rested our heads for the journey ahead.

DAY 1: H E L L O   G O A

Woke up to the rays of the sun caressing the earth. If you are an early riser then you know exactly what I am talking about. Dawn and the breathtaking view of Goa promised a very pleasant day ahead.

The bus halted at Mapusa, we got down, grabbed our bags and started on the quest on hiring a cab till our hostel. There is absolutely zero trouble finding a cab/scooty/auto here as there are numerous people just waiting for you at bus stops.

                                                             -Hostel-
We took an auto till our hostel “The funky monkey hostel”. It is the perfect place to stay as it is on the coast which makes it close to most of the beaches and touristic spots. Our room wasn’t ready so, we were chilling in the common room meanwhile. As soon as our room was ready we unpacked, rested for a while, got dressed and headed out (yes zero chill).

                                                -Anjuna Beach-
Headed off to Anjuna Beach in our ride (we rented a car). It was a suuuuper sunny day but, that didn’t stop us from posing away and spending some amazing time at the beach. Being the adventure junkie  I am, went for some water sports. Parasailing (serious the view from us there is absolutely breathtaking ). After which we grabbed some lunch and headed back to our hostel. All dead tired.

DAY 2: E X P L O R E

Wake up , dress up. Headed for breakfast. Another amazing thing about our hostel was that it offered complimentary breakfast ( both Indian and English).

-- Champora Fort –

Known as the ‘Dil chahta hai fort’ :p. It was quite the hike up to the fort.We managed to the top daring the torturous sun. Took one zillion pictures against the rustic walls and picturesque view.

-         Vagator Beach –

Adjacent to the fort. Came here post lunch to witness the sunset. It is a rocky beach and the sound of the waves hitting the rocks is so soothing. I won’t post any sunset pictures as I hoarded my insta feed with them .

-         Baga Beach –

Witnessed the karaoke sessions at St.Anthony’s and the serene sight of lights adorning the night’s darkness. There is something very calming about beaches at dusk. Had the best ice cream from ‘Gelato’ on the way back to hostel.

DAY 3:  S T E R E O T Y P I C A L        T O U R I S T

The Saturday flea market was up and we all head there to shop for some sovereigns. Put all my bargaining skills to the test here and they worked XP.

Took a long drive to Panjim ( capital ) jamming on ‘gedi’ songs.  The capital full of historical Latin & Portugese culture .Once you walk around a little in old Goa, it's easy to get addicted to its houses, especially the ones from Portuguese era. These houses have the most beautiful colors and textures, and are very inviting. Visited a church there and then spent rest of the eve admiring the sunset.

Had Dinner and lounged in the common room at our hostel singing songs.

DAY 4: A D I O S

Last day so made most use of it . On a stroll the previous day we discovered a beach at walk able distance from our hostel. It also had a shack so, chilled there took a dip in the ocean and came back in time for lunch and headed to the bus stop. Replenished so many memories and hilarious instances mid journey. Reached Bangalore at 7:00 am.

Had soo much fun, it definitely is a whole different experience travelling with likeminded people. The weather and time was perfect it wasn’t crowded anywhere. Definitely recommend visiting Goa during Feb.

P.S apologies if this was super long but, I had to share all deets.

Until next time
