Hello guys!

Probably the worst time for such a post, heeding the quarantine situation in Kuwait. But I had this drafted to decided so post anyway :P.

Let’s hope and pray that things resume ASAP and we are all healthy and safe Insha’Allah.
A few weeks ago, I visited the much talked about Yasmeen Farms located in Wafra. Here is m experience there.

The route:

Easily available and on maps and not tricky to follow. The entrance has a big sign that can be spotted from a distance.

The fee:

The basic package costs you 1 KWD per person. On entering you’ll see the different packages and can choose from either. (You can see all the packages in the video linked below)

The attractions:

Yasmeen farms are mainly known for their organization and tidiness. Which is 100 percent true the area doesn’t reek of the animals or fresh produce.

As soon as you purchase the ticket you are asked to wait in line for your ride. An array of golf carts keep circulating  to help you commute. Once you board a cart, you are taken from amidst the plantation to a mini zoo area. Animal and birds such as (camel, peacock, deer, etc) are there and you can enjoy your time feeding them.

On walking a little further, you reach an area where fresh fruits and veggies are on sale, you can enjoy roasted corn and pick your strawberries right from the stems and take them home with you 😊.

There is a mini-mart with  fresh and organic dairy products from the farm up for sale.

Adjacent to which is a play area with some fun slides/rides for kids and a place to dine. (outside food is allowed).

I made a short video of my time there. Click here to view my IGTV on the same. It's worth a visit. If you have kids they would rejoice this place so much.

Until next time

Hello Kyfam,

I don’t know if anyone besides my mains (aka my family and friends) have noticed, but I took a pretty big break from blogging. An almost five-month break to be exact.

The break started out unintentionally. I was bogged down by other responsibilities, and in the little free time I had, I found it tough to motivate myself to do anything besides the bare minimum for my blog. The writer’s block was really real, and I was on the struggle bus.

I kept putting things off. I kept telling myself I would finally publish that post “tomorrow” except “tomorrow” kept getting pushed back, and I kept stressing about it. Eventually I just decided to be intentional about my break and simply enjoy it with no guilt looming over me.

So why did I take a break from blogging?

The simple answer would be because I needed it to prevent a complete and total burnout, but the real answer was much deeper than the occasional bout of laziness and writer’s block.

I guess I just needed it, the stress of making things Instagram-able, being in the constant thought loop of what to write/post next, sitting in front of the screen gazing at different articles to get inspired from was quite fatiguing. I found myself looking at other posts and almost mirroring the same on my blog. Which I definitely didn’t want to just to meet the “you have to post” deadline in my head.

That’s what I started to reflect upon when I stopped stressing and allowed myself to enjoy my blogging break. In that time, I spent thinking, I was finally able to admit something to myself.

“It’s never too late… to be whoever you want to be… You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing… I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”

I really love this quote, and this way of looking at life. It’s never too late to do anything. And if there is one thing, I know about myself it’s that I have the courage to adjust, adapt and start all over if necessary, in order to live a life, I’m proud of, a life that makes me happy.

A big thanks to all the lovely people who kept a check and asked me when I’ll be posting next. You guys kept me motivated to start again soon.

Until next time

Hey Blog!!!!

It’s been so long that I’ve sat down to write a blog. I’ve been making a lot of IGTV videos meanwhile ‘click here’ to view a few.

Coming to today’s post I thought it would be apt to give you guys a life update and get you all caught up with what’s happening.

Yalla !!!

I’ve started going to work recently so here is what my daily routine looks like:
  •           Work from 7:30-3:30
  •           Commute to and fro from work (about 2 hours total, sometimes less)
  •           Prep for lunch and dinner once I reach home.
  •           Home chores: dishes, laundry, cleaning etc
  •           Planning my feed and uploading.
With all this happening the first few days I got drained by the end of the day. That's when I decided to plan my day in a more efficient way to get some relaxation time as well. Here is what I came up with.

      1.      Fill two needs with one deed: Optimize your time with combining certain tasks. This doesn’t necessarily mean multi-tasking because that may be counterproductive. If there are a couple of things that can be done simultaneously without problem, do them together!

            Example:

a.       During my commute I either listen to podcasts (personal development) or    talk to my mom/mother in law (relationships).
b.      While I fold laundry (day to day tasks) I’ll watch youtube videos   (recreation).
c.      While having lunch at office I listen to the holy Quran (religious).

Combining things has made things easier and more enjoyable for me.

      2.     Make commitments: If you aren’t at par with self-discipline it usually works if  you make commitments, this way you have a strict deadline and get things done.

      3.     Routine: Don’t do chores as per your mood, whereas assign a day to it.

Example: Laundry every Friday, writing a blog every Thursday etc. This way I don’t allow myself to work on anything except those tasks for the day. This has worked so well for me and made me more productive and consistent.

      4.     If it takes less than FIVE minutes do it: This simple rule is a life changer. If  I notice I am procrastinating on something I think to myself “that will take a couple of minutes” and then I do it.

         Example:

a.      Washing the dishes right after using them.
b.     Taking the trash out.
c.      Making the bed.
d.     Putting away clothes after taking them off.
e.      Deciding my clothes for the nest work day.
f.       Tidy my room.

These tasks may seem so minuscule yet living by this rule really saves up time, makes you feel productive and confident plus things are always clean. It’s a WIN WIN.
That’s all for this blog guys, hope it was a good read.  I’ll try and post here more often.

Until next time

Hellloooooo  Kyfam

So long!

So, I am back after the massive break I took. Honestly it is so refreshing and unwinding. While on the break I had put up a insta story letting you guys know that I was going to do an Q&A. If I sat down to answer each one of them it would be a super long post. So, here are few of the most asked questions.

Leggo...

1.      Which  phone photo editor to do use ?
I use VSCO and light room mostly. However I’ve recently learned to use the                                      basic I phone editor and it works pretty damn well.

2.     Which foundation do you use?
On a regular basis I use the Lakme CC crème. If I have to use a foundation I                                         use the MAC studio finish.

3.     Pineapple on Pizza v/s Avacado on pizza?
             Pineapple.

4.     What is your biggest strength?
I think it is the fact that I can let go of things and move on easily. I can’t carr                                        excess baggage.

5.     How do you manage to be so cheerful and positive all the time?
It is just my way of being I guess. I try to see the good in everything or just let                                   it be. I avoid indulging in unwanted drama ( I try :P).

6.     Science or commerce student?
             Science.

7.     Hometown?
Born in Kuwait, from Andhra Pradesh.

8.     Planning a bloggers meet anytime soon?
I really really want to. If I do visit BLR anytime soon I will host one for sure.

9.     Any plans to come back to Bangalore?
BLR has my heart. I will visit again for sure. Only I have no clue when that is                                      going to be.

10. What is your biggest fear?
             Cats, in a 500m radius.
Living a monotonous life is another fear of mine. I just can’t do the                                                      same things every day. I have to mix things up.

11.   Are you married?
             YESJ . Recently got hitched.

12. What apps do you use for Insta stories?
I use over and phonto for fonts. However I will do a detailed post on this                                               soon InshaAllah.

There you go folks! The most random Q&A ever . I enjoyed writing after long. I have a bunch of ideas in the little head of mine. Stay tuned for more content.

Until next time

Hey ! Hey !

Last week I had my first Hijama experience . First I’ll tell you the basics about Hijama and what it means .

Hijama is a word of Arabic origin that means “drawing out”. It is the process by which toxic fluids specifically blood is drained out of the body via “Hijama points”. The blood is forced to accumulate at  the hijama points after creating a vacuum by a pump and then  the toxic  blood is sucked out of the body. The process sounds weird and disturbing but it is a unique; one of a kind experience and offers many health benefits.    This is a Sunnah practice done by our prophet Muhammed  (SAW) .

The benefits of Hijama are immense
Below are some of benefits of Hijama  reported that got me interested:
·         Strengthens the immune system by removing toxicity from blood.
·         Blood circulation is increased due to opening of the blockages and giving the oxygen supply to every cell of the body.
·         It relieves the Migraine headaches and pain in neck, shoulders and stiff joints.
·         It lowers the Blood pressure and limits the chances of heart and coronary artery diseases.
·         It releases the pressure from circulatory and lymphatic system hence reducing the Psychological disorders like Insomnia, loss of appetite, stress, anxiety and depression etc.
·         It reduces the risk of paralysis even cures it.
·         It relieves the sciatic nerve pain and the joint pain specially helps to cure Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Experience :

It was a fine Tuesday morning and a few members of our family had decided to get Hijama done for migraine, stress and other health issues. I decided to tag along to observe the procedure. Mom, Sadaf and I headed off to our aunt’s house. Plenty of people where gathered there waiting in line for their turn . The “Hajjaam” ( lady/person who performs the Hijama) had come from a distance. We all had our breakfasts super early in the morning as you need to be fasting for two-three hours prior to the Hijama procedure.

On the way to the venue I made my mind of getting it done along with my sister . The wait was long as each person took one hour to finish their procedure. As we waited I kept getting tensed ( if it would pain, what’s the need , do I really want to do it) and what not crossed my mind. But, my mom was insistent. Finally it was our turn. Me and Sadaf went in the room and told the lady our concerns and why we wanted to get Hijama done.

Whilst the procedure she kept briefing us about  what she was doing and how each step was important and vital in the procedure. To my surprise IT DID NOT HURT A BIT ! . Yes, I am not exaggerating at all. The vacuum created by the cups gives an anesthetic effect. Soon after the procedure was over we ate a few dates and a banana smoothie. It is recommended to eat dates after Hijama .

It’s  four days from Tuesday today and after applying olive oil on the cuts everyday , the marks are almost gone. It did itch slightly the second day . Other than that nothing was an inconvenience. I definitely felt lighter and better . Loved the experience and will definitely go for it again.

Until next time
