Hello lovelies !
I have my finals going on and am done with one test so, I thought of
spending the rest of the day writing a blog post. As, Ramadan is round the corner it
was all I had buzzing in my head . Keep Reading : )
What is Ramadan ?
A Time for Thought, Action, and Change!
Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, introspection and prayer for
Muslims. Fasting is one of the five fundamental principles of Islam. Muslims
break their daily fasts by sharing meals with family and friends, and the end
of Ramadan is celebrated with a three-day festival known as Eid ul-Fitr, one of
Islam’s major holidays.
It is intended to bring the faithful closer
to God and to remind them of the suffering of those less fortunate. Fasting is
an exercise in self-restraint. It’s seen as a way to physically and spiritually
detoxify by kicking impulses.
Ramadan is a time to detach from worldly
pleasures and focus on one’s prayers.
Let’s talk about some benefits of fasting.
1. The month of Ramadan is a great time for our digestive system, which is responsible for the metabolism process of food, to get some rest.

2. During
fasting, the level of sugar in blood decreases so does the level of
cholesterol.
3. And of course it is a chance to get
your body in shape!
4. Also, during
the first week you will be surprised at how little food you actually need to be
full. For some people it can lead to the whole new way of consuming food.
The mental benefits of fasting during Ramadan are even
better. This year I look at it as one more chance to learn how to thrive and be
grateful for whatever comes my way.
1. You get an
opportunity to be in a state of self-discipline and self-control, which is not
a bad thing at all.
2. You start to
evaluate even small things differently.
3. Ramadan teaches you to avoid anger.
4. It is strongly
encouraged to help those in need.
5. And share your happiness with
everyone.
6. To forgive someone’s and your own mistakes.
If you find it very difficult to forgive everyone,
forgive at least three people.
Ramadan is a reminder of how many things in life we take
for granted. That’s why I think everyone should make an effort and try to fast.
Maybe not during Ramadan days, maybe later on, but I am sure people will be
amazed at how different they feel and think after such an experience.
In a nutshell, even though the real
purpose of the Fasting is to discipline our soul and moral behavior, to develop
sympathy for the less fortunate, it is a multi-functional and a comprehensive
tool of change in various spheres of our lives, including: social and economic,
intellectual , spiritual and physical, private and public, personal and common,
---all in one!
May our good deeds be accepted
Happy Ramadan!!!
Until next time
Polý agape (lots of love) and stay cheerful :)
