This post is for all of you who are going to start their colleges this year .
Every time one thinks about moving off to college we think of fun, friends and just other happy things . But for me it wasn't a piece of cake. I was very excited when I knew that I got into a college in India and will be staying in a dorm room . It was a leap of faith, both excited and nervous as I was staying away from family for the first time.

However the days rushed past and I took off to India , joined my hostel and settled down rapidly . Constantly kept in touch with my parents over call and text   .

All that apart there were a few things I realized over time . That I could never have known if I was living in a gold cocoon forever.

      1.     It's not easy:

Managing everything by yourself , from getting up in the morning , having / making breakfast , ironing your clothes literally everything you were semi dependent for is to be done by yourself now.

      2.    Manage well :

It becomes chaotic and very irritating if you do not manage your time well. There is no body to tell / guide you to keep doing things. Accept the responsibility and plan well.

      3.    Friends :

it's easy to make friends on the first day of college , but that can get overwhelming . Yes , mingle well but take your own time to know who shares your likes and dislikes . Many a times we tend to be in the company of people we don’t really enjoy and then we part away and feel alone and disheartened . so take your time . Choose quality over quantity these people are going to give you the most memorable days of your youth make it worth the while.

      4.    Keep in touch :

It might be hard to keep in touch with everyone with the busy schedule ,but do make time for your folks and old friends . You will always feel better and the homesickness wont effect you as much .

       5.    Relations :
Having a good rapport with your room mates and other staff will make staying in the dorm a lot easier for you . Your room mate may have a few habits that get on your nerves but , rather than yelling you can tell them politely . You’ll be staying with them for a while. Make good memories: )

       6.    Eat and Stay healthy :

This gets tricky, staying in a dorm we tend binge eat junk food and rely on ready to cook stuff in return making our immune system fragile. Make sure to eat well and keep yourself hydrated. Hygiene is also a major factor that needs to be taken under consideration. You can easily catch allergies and infections in dorms so, maintain your hygiene well and keep check .

You might be intimidated by the idea of moving away from your parents and living all by yourself but, trust me it makes you a whole new person . Every day is a learning experience and you become more independent and confident. College years are one of the most memorable years of your life. Enjoy it to the most and make it worth the while.

Until next time

Hey Kyfam !

Today’s post is a travel blog . If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat you’d know I toured quite a bit this summer . The best part about my vacay was my visit to a nature camp. The Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp is a paean to a majestic river the Cauvery . A wonderful mix of delightful nature and wild adventure, this camp is close enough for easy access and far enough to cut yourself off from the everyday humdrum. It is a perfect get away spot for you to disconnect from the world and unwind amidst the nature .
Whether it’s action-packed adventure or just a chance to get closer to nature, Bheemeshwari Nature and Adventure Camp is just the place for it.
Day 1 : On 10th July 2017 we started from Bangalore to Mandya  . A three hour drive of about 110 km . The entire drive was scenic and enjoyable . We reached there about 9:30am  and were welcomed with a refreshing fruit punch and south Indian breakfast . We then headed over to our lodges .

They provide four types of abodes tented cottages , log huts , cottages and bamboo hut . The most scenic one being the bamboo huts , it is a tree house on the brim of the river . After settling down we strolled around exploring the place and spent some time dipping our feet in the gushing river .

By 12:00 we had our lunch in the dining area and it was then time for our day’s adventure activities .  A range of adventurous activities from zip line, rope walking, kayaking, etc. were worth trying. We started off with securing ourselves in harnesses and climbing  up a fragile ladder supported against the bark of a tree . On reaching the top our first activity was elephant walk , walking over flat circular plates balanced over a rope .  The next one was Burma loops followed by  zip lining , parallel walk , log walk and another zip line . Out of which the most exhilarating and impelling one was parallel walk , walking over a thin rope tied between two trees only with the support of a sloppy wire . All these activities were 1138.58 ft above ground level . Our feet touched the ground after zip lining for 300 m.

After which we took a relaxing condiment break and headed to our next activity : coracle ride , surrounded by depths of the Cauvery and lush greenery hugging the shoreline we rowed upstream only to come up close with a crocodile , we safely observed the predator from a distance and moved forward  . After an hour of coracle riding we geared up  for kayaking . This was a first timer for me as we had to do this without a guide . Me and my sister grasped the method quickly and had so much fun time paddling away we didn’t realize how time had passed . After an exhausting kayak and adventure activities experience we headed back to our rooms grabbed pillows and relaxed on a massive hammock under the boughs. By 6:00pm we were called for a camp fire and enjoyed barbecued goodies cozed up before the fire . Dinner and a good night’s sleep was what followed .

Day 2 :  A wake up call at 6:00 along with tea and cookies arrived , waking up and gazing over the vast forest is the most refreshing feeling of all time . It is unmatched and rejuvenating  . We then dressed  for a trek and nature walk . Wildlife that can be spotted in these parts are elephants, deer, crocodiles, turtles, snakes and about two hundred bird species.  We returned back from a two hour walk and sat down for breakfast . 11:00 was our check out time and we packed and boarded our locomotives.

On the way back we made a pit stop at Wonderla , Bangalore’s biggest amusement park and had a blast in the theme park . For most of the journey back home I just slept . On reaching , exhausted we crashed into our beds .
The best time to visit is just after the monsoons, between August and February, when the river is alive and the forest is thick and verdant. Although a stay for more than a day isn’t advised as they have not many activities planned for more than a day  . However it was a wonderful experience as we were also cut off from our phones as it was a no service region and we left them back in our rooms .

Until next time

Hey Guys !
I am constantly on the hunt for affordable yet good quality products. I know am asking for too much but , good news ! I found 13 amaaazing products all under Rs.250 . Now, this is for Indian market specifically as majority of my viewers are from India ( LOVE YOU GUYS ) .I do realize there are a few of you abroad as well there are a few products for you guys in here as well J I will try to link all the products .

I’ll start with Lipsticks

1.      Elle 18  ( Rs. 150 )  : Elle 18 makes really good lipsticks .Very comfortable , easy to wear and matte . My favorites are Mauve date and Blondie pink .

      Shop this online :  http://amzn.to/2qyEloF

2.     Gala Of London ( Rs 199) : These are slightly drying but are really good quality and you don’t get liquid lipsticks this cheap that are extremely matte . As mentioned these are tad bit drying so you will have to prep your lips well before applying . I have them in the shade Twig and Rustic .

              BONUS : Twig is a really close dupe for Kylie’s 22 .
              Shop this online : https://goo.gl/AAtsqJ

3.     Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipsticks ( Rs.250) : This retail for exactly 250 is a crème finish and does a really good job staying on your lips .

4.     Miss Claire SMLC (Rs.150) : The best under 250 lipsticks , there are few retailers that sell these for 600,700 what not but , you should be paying 200 max for these . The shade ( Eleven) is my favorite for college wear .
      Link : http://amzn.to/2rDl59U

5.     Maybelline Baby Lips ( Rs.175) : This list would be incomplete without this product . I love this lip balm and am all about tinted lip balms .Great for college wear .
      Link :  http://amzn.to/2ragyu3

Moving on to Eyes :

6.     Elle 18 colorpop liner (Rs.85) : They come in four gorgeous colors . I f you want to experiment new looks or are a beginner at makeup these are absolute go tos . My current crush is the ‘olive green’ shade , brings out the brown hues of my eyes .
      Link : http://amzn.to/2qyQ8Dt

7.     Nykaa ‘Rock the line’ Kajal ( Rs. 199) : It is decently pigmented and stays on for about 3- 4 hours after which re touching is required . The best part is the retractable pencil so you can have the most of the product and not have to sharpen it .
      Link : https://goo.gl/TOv95a

8.     Faces ‘Magnet eyes’ Kajal ( Rs.175) : The same pigmentation and consistency as Nykaa’s kajal.
      Link : http://amzn.to/2rD45At

9.     PAC Lashes ( Rs.165) : For all of us girls who binge watch makeup tutorials and frown on not owning lashes just because they are so pricey . These lashes are great quality and are so light on the eyes (53 and 59) are very flattering on the almond Indian eyes .
      Link : http://amzn.to/2rD3z5w

Face and skin scare :

10. Maybelline Super fresh compact (Rs.150) : This is apparently a whitening compact but , I don’t really believe in it. However it does a great work in holding your oils. But , I wish they had more shades in it .They just have three shades.

11.   Blush MUA (Rs.240) : I love the shade 01  a pretty peach and gives a pretty flush of pink on your cheeks. Perfect for the Indian skin tones .

12. Lacto Calamine (Rs.60): A savior for summers and is my favorite ever since . It has clay in it and really helps cool down your skin .
      Link : http://amzn.to/2skOIZN

13.  Neutrogena Ultra sheer sun block (Rs.199) : Sun block is a must have for summers and protects your skin from the tan and sun rashes . The best part of it is very light weighted on the skin and is not colored hence does not patch .

So yes, that was my list of top   13 under 250 . Hope you guys liked it .

Until next time
