  Hello KYFAM !

Sunday brunches are the new Saturday night parties. Yes,I’d rather go for a lovely brunch on Sunday and enjoy tasteful conversations with lots of food and friends. Ladies, if your Sunday afternoon plans include sitting at home,it’s time you try an amazing Sunday Brunch.

Apart from the obvious time difference, the one most prominent thing that sets a brunch apart from an evening party is the dress code. Though not official, the unsaid rule for a brunch is totally different from a glamorous evening out. The look is understated, relaxed and more comfortable.

If you’re wondering how to go about putting together the right Sunday brunch look for yourself, here’s something to help you out!

Typically when I do Sunday brunches with friends and family I prefer wearing a long flowy dress like this one.

Sunday is usually when I coddle in with a cheat meal for the week, and boy do I eat!  Which is why a breathable dress like this one is just perfect and rather needed since it has enough room for me and my food baby!

I found this dress from a brand called KOOVS , the print and the silhouette immediately caught my eye. I know that I will be getting a lot of use out of this dress.

I wore my basic grey long cardigan and simple accessories to finish the look . I wanted the print to do all the talking which is why everything else was kept minimal.

Maxi Dress - KOOVS , Cardigan - Splash

Just in case you want to dress this up a notch , over the cardigan waist belt is a big thing nowadays . This cinches and outlines your waist and gives the appearance of a longer silhouette .

No cardigan , no problem . Throw on a denim jacket and head out for your day . So effortless yet looks so put together .

              Watch - Alba , Ring - Aldo accessories , Footwear - Valentino

Until next time

We can’t touch words but our words can touch one’s heart and soul. The words we speak can put a smile on someone’s face or bring tears to another one’s eyes .We can encourage one other with the words we speak or crush hopes and dreams of one by not watching what we say. Our words are more powerful than we give them credit .

They are indeed a creative force.

We are the masters of our unspoken words and slaves of the spoken ones . It solemnly depends on us decide what we want the outcome to be .All of this crashed to me when I came across this ayah (verse) from the Quran that said

“The believers of the most merciful are those who walk upon the Earth in humility and when the ignorant address them , they say words of peace”-Quran [25:63]

This made me comprehend that the most important part of our  life is actually the ability to use  words . They define our values , our personality . We are no better than our  words , we are no greater than our words . The character of  our words is the character of our personality so we got to choose them wisely .

Our life is just is the expression, the manifestation , the reflection of our words and where we are today is ultimately a result of something we said right or wrong . Ever since I realized that my words had so much power I trained myself to never use abusive or negative language .I can say everything I ever need to say without pilling on insults, and without denigrating the other person .

It is also important to keep in mind that where your attention goes, so goes your emotional energy . Focus on positive things and your life will be positive. Avoid saying negative things about other unnecessarily, when you say destructive things about others –your emotional energy is also negatively affected. However if you want to point out deficiencies for the purpose of helping someone improve in certain areas , use tact and diplomacy to focus on performance issues and always avoid personal attacks.

“Any fool can criticize , condemn and complain but it takes a character and self control to be understanding  and forgiving” – Quran

Refrain from negative conversations and help yourself to being a person of kind words . “Generosity is an easy thing , it is a smiling face and kind words” – Umar (ra). It’s that simple refuse to be a part of groups who speak poorly of others .You are surrounded by people who are thrive on cutting others down , reconsider with whom you spend your time .

Friends , it matters how you speak .It matters how you express yourself .And this has nothing to do with your religion , these quotes I am sharing are from my favourite book (Quran) every religion preaches kindness and peace and you will always get better results if you speak nicely to others . Speak the truth but kindly and politely .

“No one who has the weight of arrogance in his heart will enter paradise” – Quran

“If  a man defamed you with what he knows about you , do not defame him with what you know about him . For the sin is against him”-Mohammed (S.A)

“Show forgiveness, enjoy what is good and turn away from the foolish”-Quran[7:199]

Until next time

Many of us put our happiness and dreams on hold for another day , when the truth is life is happening right now .If you want to make positive changes , today is the day .

Where to begin ? Well keep reading .

      1.       Create a vision : Get clear in your purpose , what drives you and what you desire for your life , relationships ,career, lifestyle and personal growth .

      2.      Noticing and living in the present : Right now is a miracle.  Right now is the only moment guaranteed to you.  Right now is life.  So stop thinking about how great things will be in the future.  Stop dwelling on what did or didn’t happen in the past.  Learn to be in the ‘here and now’ and experience life as it’s happening.  Appreciate the world for the beauty that it holds, right now.

      3.      Peace time daily : Your investment in staying calm and to yourself daily will come back to you tenfold in the form of increased insight, inner peace , creativity and compassion .

      4.      Treat your body well :It’s your home on this Earth so nourish it with water, healthy food and exercise .

      5.      Listen to your heart and intuition : Your heart is the key to your life purpose and will provide you with wisdom and guidance that your thinking mind cannot comprehend.

      6.      Mix up your routine : Don’t live the same year 85 times and call it a life , try out a new route, coffee shop, walking trail, hobby or activity .

      7.      Start valuing the lessons your mistakes teach you. – Mistakes are okay; they’re the stepping stones of progress.  If you’re not failing from time to time, you’re not trying hard enough and you’re not learning.  Take risks, stumble, fall, and then get up and try again.  Appreciate that you are pushing yourself, learning, growing and improving.  Significant achievements are almost invariably realized at the end of a long road of failures.  One of the ‘mistakes’ you fear might just be the link to your greatest achievement yet.

      8.     Get clear on your values: Your deep underlying motivators like freedom , creativity , wisdom , abundance , vitality , connection and authenticity-and start biasing your life around them .

      9.      Make time for joy and pleasure: Write down a list of all the things that make you come alive and do them weekly , the whole the world will benefit your light and joy.

      10.  Start cheering for other people’s victories. – Start noticing what you like about others and tell them.  Having an appreciation for how amazing the people around you are leads to good places – productive, fulfilling, peaceful places.  So be happy for those who are making progress.  Cheer for their victories.  Be thankful for their blessings, openly.  What goes around comes around, and sooner or later the people you’re cheering for will start cheering for you.

      11.   Do one thing each week that scares you: Your current comfort zone is just the last place you set up camp on your journey — by doing something that scares you each week, you are constantly growing beyond your self-imposed limitations.

      12.  Value your happiness: We are so quick to give away our happiness over trivial matters or things outside of our control, when it is one of the most valuable things we possess. Value your happiness by remembering the mantra: “I could see peace instead of this” every time you are tempted to get caught up in drama.

       13.  Celebrate everything. Small wins build your confidence and build you up to have more success — look for more ways to celebrate yourself and your loved ones. I celebrate the tiniest things related to my blog ( if I hit 10K and stuff like that people think I am silly but it gives me immense happiness and I am going to celebrate it).

      14.  Start taking full accountability for your own life. – Own your choices and mistakes, and be willing to take the necessary steps to improve upon them.  Either you take accountability for your life or someone else will.  And when they do, you’ll become a slave to their ideas and dreams instead of a pioneer of your own.  You are the only one who can directly control the outcome of your life.  And no, it won’t always be easy.  Every person has a stack of obstacles in front of them.  But you must take accountability for your situation and overcome these obstacles.  Choosing not to is choosing a lifetime of mere existence.

       15.   Start facing your problems head on. – It isn’t your problems that define you, but how you react to them and recover from them.  Problems will not disappear unless you take action.  Do what you can, when you can, and acknowledge what you’ve done.  It’s all about taking baby steps in the right direction, inch by inch.  These inches count, they add up to yards and miles in the long run.

Make tiny changes each day starting today and make yourself a better person with each passing day.

Until next time

Wassup KYFAM !

We all are low key fashionistas and want to keep up with the latest trends but, everything trending is either pricey or not in reach (especially if you dress modestly like I do IMPOSSIBLE !). Pause and look around , every city has its gem where you can splurge and get more than what you spent . Such a place is Bangalore’s Commercial Street . A sprawling flea market with lanes and lanes of apparel , accessories , home decor and what not . On my recent visit to this flea market I gave myself a challenge of spending only Rs.1000 and see if I could put together a complete outfit.

Keep reading to see what I assembled.

The lane I went to was right adjacent to Safina Plaza , this landmark will get you to the exact places I shopped at  and also is a safe spot to park . After an hour and a half of exploring and frisking multiple shops I settled for a denim shirt dress which I wanted since forever , a tang sling bag , strap flip flops,  an long owl chain , arm candies and a long black tank top . I will mention the shop and price deets below the images .

Denim shirt dress : Rs.350 , Shop No. (110)

Tang sling bag : Rs.150 , Shop No.(148)
Strap flip flops : Rs.200,Shop No.(72)

Chain:Rs.50, Shop ( Street Vendor)
Arm Candies : Rs.70 , Shop (Street Vendor)

Long Tank Top :Rs.130 , Shop No.(110)

The best part about the denim shirt dress is that it is so versatile and you can use it as a layering piece and get another look out of it . Layer it over a tank top and you have a casual street look .

I spent 1 ½ hour and Rs.950 on this look , it’s definitely a catch .Now that you know about the place what are you waiting for ? Get out and explore this wonderful street . It has something for everybody and you surely will find something of your style . I’ve not even mentioned the yummy street food ( Bhel Puri , Lassi and cut mango ! ) .

Take a day off and unwind in this chaotic home of small and big finds.

Until next time

I recently uploaded a picture on my instagram and told you guys to ask me some questions be personal , blog related , lifestyle or anything you’d want to know . Honestly this being my first Q&A I didn’t expect to get any questions :P But , I am so glad with the few I received :)  .LEGGO !

Q. What inspired you to start blogging ?

A: I love sharing my experiences with the everyone and blogging is a melting pot of my other interests like photography , DIY , travelling and reading . It keeps me busy (which I love) and whilst that I get to explore new ways of being creative and have fun .

Q. How do you find all these amazing topics to write  ?

A : (firstly thank you so much ) I am honestly inspired by everyday life , that’s why my blog is so versatile in topics . Everything I share is just like my real life . Share things I do every day I just might take a pretty picture of it but it’s still my real life and I love sharing it with other people and I hope it inspires them to follow their dreams, travel , try a new food , buy a new product or try a new style .
Other than that I get suggestions from my lovely viewers sometimes , browse through latest trends or keep a poll on my blog if I am confused on what to post .

Q. What do you consider as your weakness ?

A : This I don’t consider as a weakness anymore as I am effectively working on it . Anyway what was a major weakness of mine was taking all tasks to myself. As in if something was assigned to me and I wasn’t able to go past a certain stage I would never ask for help from anyone. This led to me getting fussy and stressed. This habit obviously gobbled up most of my time and energy and for nothing. Ever since I realized that it didn’t harm in asking for help and doing so was not a sign of weakness I have been more successful in my tasks and merrier.

Q: Who is your favorite cousin ?

A: This was asked by a cousin of mine :P . Anyway answering this, the ones I grew up with and shared my moody teenage with Samrah and Sana ( lifelines :*)

Q:How do you edit your blog images ?

A: Initially I used ‘picsart’ to edit my pictures and as gradually shifted on to ‘photoshopCS6’. For my title images I leave a negative space while shooting and place my title in there . For a detailed info I just might post about it sometime : )

Q: Why “Kyriasabah”?

A: My very first post was all about this .Answering to the question I followed few youtubers who had a MR. or a MISS prefixed to their channel’s names and I loved the concept and wanted something alike but , went for another language . KYRIA in Greek means “miss” and SABAH being my surname . Hence KYRIASABAH .

I loved answering to these and I am so glad you guys asked : )

Until next time

Summer being most authentic season all over the world, comes with its own delusions. The sunny season gives never-ending reasons to script wonderful days .Vacations, beaches, travel stories and the ‘to-do’ list can go on. I’ve come from the land of the deserts; Kuwait. To maintain the equity of the hot and dry weather, majority of the time I stayed indoors. My house and school were centrally air-conditioned and this became a reason why the terrible heat was never a threat. Residing in Kuwait, I built my own hub full of comforts.

It’s almost two years since I’ve moved to Bangalore and to slip into the lifestyle of here is still processing for me. Summer is the most difficult season for me. The sun in Bangalore is killer and to stay powered up the entire day is quit a task. Towards the end of the day, a dreadful fatigue lingers in the body; which naturally demolishes the efficiency of work. Here are two refreshing recipes for summer punches that rejuvenate the life back into you and keep you agile all day.
